CARAT

Diamond Carat Weight: a carat is a metric unit used to measure the weight of gemstones and pearls. One carat is equal to 200mg. Diamond weight below one carat can be expressed in points, each of which weighs 1/100th of a carat, or 2mg. For example, a half carat diamond could be expressed as “50 points”. “25 points” refers to ¼ carat.
